Renovating in Ulmet, Germany
The home we renovated in Ulmet, Germany, is in a small, quiet, farming village near Kusel and Altenglan. Located on Hintergasse Strasse, it is tucked away in an alley and was built circa 1870. It has massive barns and a huge timber exposed attic. Our community was small, approximately 700 folks and everyone was welcoming and friendly.
Ulmet has a few nice German restaurants, hiking trails, and historic architecture that is beautiful to behold. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking---peaceful and pastoral. Sheep dot the green landscape, storks come to nest, and the river Glan flows parallel to a bike path that connects to other villages. In the Spring, Summer and fall, flowers bloom profusely, and in winter, it becomes a wonderland when it snows.
We enjoyed many years living in Ulmet and will forever treasure that time.
